Conference ChampionshipsTennessee Titans 24 at Oakland Raiders 31 Updated Dec 1, 2009 11:40 PM
RB Justin Fargas ran for an estimated 125 yards on 15 carries and 3 TDs.
OAKLAND ADVANCES TO MPL BOWL XV: BATTLE OF THE BAY
Strong D and dominate running game powers raidering Raider's Raiders over the Titans
Game started with Titans receiving the kickoff. 1st play of the game would be a pass intended for TE Cook Jr which would be picked off by LB Jon Alston. At mid field.

1st play Fargas takes a handoff and is gone for 50 yards and a TD.
OAK 7 TEN 0
Titans looking to keep themselves in the game went to their ground game but the raiders were able to clamp down and force a 3 and out. A few plays later Seabass would kick a 49 yard FG.
OAK 10 TEN 0

Tennessee looking a bit desperate needed to get something going and went into a wildcat formation and busted a 45 yard run. It would land them inside the 20 and poised to score. Oakland would force a 4th and inches and VY would take the sneak and gain the 1st down. The titans would get down to the 3 and be faced with 3rd down. VY would rollout and force a pass across the field and Chris Johnson would leap, break a tackle and be gone. A 102 yards later the Raiders are up 17-0.

2nd

Tenn is now in desperation mode after the 102 yard run back left the Oakland defense completely depleted with Wrs playing CB and the backups backup getting some playing time. That didn’t seem to stop VY from throwing another INT to DB Hiram Eugene.

Oakland looking to just break the game wide open would look to air it out and Gradkowski would get hit as he throws and Keith Bulluck gets the INT. Tennessee’s drive would reach the redzone but be forced to kick the FG.

OAK 17 TEN 3

Oakland would try to get something going before half time but to no avail as they would be forced to punt.

Tennessee would have time to get down field but with no timeouts would fall short after a big Chris Johnson screen catch that would go down to the OAK 30.

Lighting would delay 2nd half

3rd

2nd half was more of the same with Fargas pounding the ball and on the drive would take a 62 yard toss to the house possibly shattering any hope for the Titans.

OAK 24 TEN 3

But Tenn wasnt gonna go down with out a fight, as they would orchestrate a long drive capped off by a Chris Johnson catch for a TD

OAK 24 TEN 10

4th
Oakland looking for the bowl decided to drain the clock as much as possible and possibly score and 12 plays and 3:22 later, Fargas would score his 3rd TD and seal the deal with 2:28 remaining.....however....

OAK 31 TEN 10

TEN was still trying to fight back and would go for it on a 4th and 6 on their own 32 and gain 42 yards on a pass to washington. A few plays later VY would take the ball in himself to cut the lead down to 2 scores with :53 sec remaining.

OAK 31 TEN 17

Onside kick and TEN recovers.....5 plays later VY finds Kenny Britt on a post for a TD and now the lead is down to 7 but with :05 left.

OAK 31 TEN 24

Onside but Oakland recovers and kneels out the 5 remaining secs for the win.

Conference ChampionshipsSan Francisco 49ers 20 at Philadelphia Eagles 17 Updated Nov 30, 2009 5:14 PM
49ers play nearly mistake free ball, lose big lead, but still win 20-17

The 49ers came into this one knowing about Coach Trusion's stick skill, his propensity to the occasional turnover, both forced and given. They knew they were mismatched against the eagles secondary, so a successful run game was the key to the game.

The 49ers opened up the game with a methodical drive, with runs every which way and passes in the seams between the zones. The Eagles were playing lots of short zones close to the line, but spread to the sidelines. Their gameplan to take away Vernon Davis worked(no catches all game) But it opened up the inside running game and left Michael Crabtree in loose coverage all game. The 49ers took advantage on the first drive after converting a 4th and inches at the 5, throwing a slant on 3rd down to crabtree for the opening touchdown to take the lead 7-0.

The eagles answered right back, scrambling out of the pocket and hitting a wide open deshaun jackson on a drag for a 40 yard gain, they had themselves right on the edge of field goal range when the manually controlled Free Safety Tarrel Brown came in with the histick on a run and forced a turnover!

http://www.easports.com/media/play/video/13931445

The 49ers used this new possession wisely, moving down the field again, but at the 34, with Frank Gore out on rest, Glenn Coffee got stopped short on a 3rd and 2 run and the 49ers opted to settle for a field goal to go up 10, rather then test their luck on another 4th and inches. 10-0 49ers.

The 49ers were playing a lot of man coverage blitzez, trying to prevent the speedy eagles receivers from finding easy gaps in the zone, and for the most part it was working, but when Mcnabb was getting time his WRs were getting plenty of seperation, and he saw maklin streaking to the right side of the field wide open, but so did the user controlled manny lawson, and the lob to the corner was intercepted by a leaping linebacker!

http://www.easports.com/media/play/video/13931290

The 49ers used their effective ground game to near perfection again. THis time even converting a third down with the legs of Alex Smith, but after taking a sack they found themselves at about the 25 with just about 30 seconds left. Trying to find a man downfield closer to the endzone, the eagles pass rush recognized Smith trying to buy time and hit him for a sack fumble and a recovery that was indescribably huge for the eagles, stopping a potential 49ers touchdown or field right before the half. So instead of 17-0 or 13-0, it was just 10-0 going into the third.

http://www.easports.com/media/play/video/13931498

The Eagles opened up the second half with the ball, and they were finally able to put a sustained drive up, and move into field goal range, where a 45 yard kick by akers was actually only made by a yard or two. cutting the lead to 7.

Once again the eagles defense was locking down Vernon Davis, but because the Strong Safety was in manual coverage on Davis on a post over the middile, Michael Crabtree was in single coverage on a go route down field. Coach Sully figured what the h e double hockey sticks, and chucked it up, and Samuel, despite having decent position to swat or even knock down the pass, completly whiffed and let crabtree catch it about 50 yards down field in the redzone! This set the 49ers up for a short Glen Coffee TD run to the outside! 17-3 49ers.

The 49ers had been containing the Eagles return game by being aggressive and gunning down the field, but with a big lead they started to play it a little safe, keeping the gunner back to try to contain the big return. This did just the opposite, and just like the divisional round, the 49ers gave one up and the eagles got one as Maklin took the kickoff 107 yards to the house to put the score at 17-10!

The 49ers wanted to ice this one, and do it now, but they couldn't keep anything going on offense for the first time in the game. First it was an overthrow to a wide open man in the flats on third, then a michael crabtree hit and drop deep downfield. The Eagles just kept getting another shot, and they took advantage by finding a man in the slot for a huge catch and run touchdown after the 49ers played a little too tight on the zone coverage, and just like that, the game was tied at 17 all.

The 49ers failed to score once again, and with just 2 minutes left, the eagles had the ball at the 20 with a chance to win it, but a poor pass from mcnabb went low and right into the hands of Manny Lawson for his second interception of the game, which allowed the 49ers to drain the clock and kick the game winner as time expired!

http://www.easports.com/media/play/video/13931473

h e double hockey sticks of a game Trusion, really could have gone either way, no one has ever locked down Davis like you did to me today. God I hate Alex Smith in this game sometimes lol.

Some key stats
49ers had 234 yards of total offense, the eagles 233
49ers had nearly a 2:1 ration on TOP
Manny Lawson was the POTG with 2 huge interceptions.
Gore ran for 89 yards on 19 carries
The Eagles defense held vernon davis to zero catches. A first all season

YOUR NEXT TITANS!!!
Coach Raider Ends Coach Cowboys 3-Peat bid with a 35-21 Victory
Oakland completes their own 3-peat of the Broncos with the same formula: DEFENSE
1ST
raiders would get tHe ball 1st . it was clEar that the raiders where gonna look to control the game with long drives and timelY plays as that’s how the 1st few drives would go.
the running game helped keep the Chains mOving until a 3rd and short medium came up. coach raider looking to spread the d out a little called in 4 wr set and Would hit newly demoted darius heyward-Bey catch fOr a gain of 29 yards. that plaY would set the raiders insIde denver territOry. four run plays later the raiders Where 11 yards from scoring the 1st points of the game. coach raider thought after those 4 straight runs a play action would be a perfect call iN the situation. theY were right, as zach miller would be Open enoUgh to catch the 11 yard TD and complete a 10 play 74 yard drive, while draining 3 mins and 23 seconds.

:D

OAK 7 DEN 0

broNcos loOking to come out sTrong wOuld be stymied as 3 plays later the broNCos would bE forced to punt.

Oakland feeling good staRted their drive off wiTh a run and on a 2nd and 5, a screen was called but it was sniffed out by the dbs and gradkoWskI goes to his 2nd option but is hit as he throws and the ball Comes up short right into woodyard’s hands and hE takes the int to house.

OAK 7 DEN 7

after completely controlling the 1st quarter the raiders found themselves tied But it wasnt gonna stop them. looking to throw in a wrinkle into the gameplan, the Raiders woUld come out the wildcaT formation with darren mcfadden Taking the snap. like moses and the parting of tHe REd sEa, mcfadden had a compleTely open lane and went 80 yards untouched for a td.

OAK 14 DEN 7

2nd

denver would come out unphased by the bIg play. orton and crew would start on a MEthodical drive of their own going 9 playS and covering 70 yards before capping It off by a gaffney 7 yard td Reception.

OAK 14 DEN 14

oakland looking to get something going before the half Would go 3 and out and leave some tIme for denver to work with.

orton would pick up a couple of yards before with less than a minute remaining orton would throw a pass and mike mitchell would be right in positioN to pick it off and he would score a td oN the runbAck.

OAK 21 DEN 14

3rd

Raider d had been playing awesomely stopping the bronco running and the passing game for the most part except for a few big plays and losing containment on orton. the 3rd would start no different. after forcing two back to back sacks, the raiders where pumped after forcing a bronco punt and giving their offense a change to go up by 2 scores.

oakland would come out running again and controlling the clock. oakland would face a a 3rd and 3 and gradkowski reading a possible blitz would hot route miller and sure enough the bronco lbs would bring the heat leaving zach miller open for a 40 yard catch and run. than a few plays later mcfadden would take the screen pass swipe a defender off of him and run into the endzone to put the raiders up by 14.

OAK 28 DEN 14

denver would not give up, as big plays, one an orton 15 yard scramble and a 17 yard screen to moreno would keeps drive their drive alive. than another big play to lloyd would get den into the redzone and graham would end the big play filled drive with a 11 yard td.

OAK 28 DEN 21

4th

oakland looking to get downfield and extend their lead again would come out firing but would be put into a tough position after getting sacked. facing a 3rd and 9, the raiders needed the 1st down if they wanted to keep pressuring the broncos into playing catch up. while being blanketed all game by champ bailey, chaz schillens picked a great time to step up as gradkowski would look to the big guy for the 1st down. chaz would run a comeback and a perfectly timed throw would hit chaz just as he got separation and he would pick up the 1st down.

oakland feeling good would run it thinking they could get into seabass’s range and make it a 2 possession game while leaving as little time on the clock as they could. the bronco d tho thought other wise and told strong and forced a 3rd down on the den 47. grad see nothing and with pressure coming from the de, he would scramble to the sideline and see a streaking mcfadden running in the middle of the field. he would heave it up to him and mcfadden would catch it and almost instantaneously a bronco defender would come in to lay out mcfadden and the ball would pop out . incomplete pass…with what could have been the final nail in the coffin with the raiders inside the 10 with 3 mins to go instead its a raiders punt.

a great punt by lechler would set the broncos up on the den 8 down by 7 with 3 mins left in the game.

the bronco drive was on. a moreno catch and run would net bout 15 yards as he would go out of bounces but an antsy branch would nail moreno out of bounds for a 15 yard penalty would be added to the end of the play. 2 min warning . orton will drop back to pass and see eddie royal running across the field, with chris johnson all over him, in would come the pass and johnson would play he ball well and swat it but instead the ball getting swatted away from royal the ball goes straight to him and he is off to the races, in comes branch from his deep safety position and just levels royal. fumble!!!!!!!! chris johnson picks it up and is gone.

OAK 35 DEN 21

game would end with mitchell grabbing his 2nd int and grad kneeling out the clock.

Divisional PlayoffsChicago Bears 24 at San Francisco 49ers 32 Updated Nov 27, 2009 10:07 PM
49ers outlast bears 32-24
winning the turnover battle and key clock management win a sloppy game for the 9ers
The bears started this one off with a long drive, and after successfully converting a 3rd and 14 they found themselves in field goal range. Fortunately for them, DB Tarrel Brown dropped what should have been an easy interception on 3rd down and they were able to keep those three points to take the early lead.

http://www.easports.com/media/play/video/13827212

The 49ers took over and started giving the ball to their playmakers. Vernon Davis was ripping about the bears linebackers, and gore was moderately effective running the ball. The 49ers eventually punched it in after Davis took a short route off playaction, broke a tackle, and made it to the endzone. The 49ers thought they might be taking control, but just like that, hester took the ensuing kickoff 107 yards to the house to put Coach Blu back on top 10-7

http://www.easports.com/media/play/video/13827294

The 49ers tried to respond with a deep pass to Josh Morgan, who had the inside position deep downfield, but Charles Tillman made an amazing play and jumped the route for a bears interception. The bears took advantage of great field position and found the fullback in the flat for a touchdown to go up 17-7. The 49ers were able to drive down the field, but after Alex Smith overthrew a wide open Josh Morgan for a touchdown, the 9ers had to settle for a field goal and a 7 point deficit going into half.

http://www.easports.com/media/play/video/13827232

3rd Quarter
The 49ers opened up the second half with some effective drives, but Vernon Davis got hurt early and would be out for the rest of the game, and even with the 49ers adding a field goal, forcing a Devin Hester fumble on the next kick return, they had to settle for a second field goal and still found themselves down by 1. But then on the Bears next offensive possession, the 49ers read the open forte in the flats, and took the manually controlled safety over, laid the hitstick just as he caught it, and forte coughed it up, and it was swiftly returned by Takeo Spikes for the go ahead touchdown!

http://www.easports.com/media/play/video/13827362

The 49ers defense was dominating now, and it started piling on for the bears as Patrick Willis picked off Jay Cutler on the next drive and took it to the house to improve the 49ers lead to 13.

http://www.easports.com/media/play/video/13827318

The Bears weren't giving up though, and they found Knox deep downfield, beating the 49ers bump and run and blitz attempt, this big catch set them up for a touchdown, and a two point conversion to cut the 49ers lead to just 5 with over 4 minutes left to go! All they had to do was make a defensive stop and they were in business!

The 49ers weren't having any of that foolishness though, and they drove downfield with a lot of running, and a clutch 2nd down and long conversion to crabtree, to eat up a ton of clock and a deep pass down to the 1 yard line actually gave them the chance to run down the clock for real since it was under 2 minutes in the game. The 49ers foolishly ran a toss on 1st down though, and it cost them the game sealing TD as they were hit in the backfield for a 5 yard loss. But the Bears had to use all their timeouts on the goalline stand, and they were just unable to drive the length of the field in 30 seconds with no timeouts, and the 49ers squeak this one out 32-24

GG BLu, we both had a couple bad breaks in that one for sure.

  Broncos fire coach Cowboy
Owner Pat Bowlen (above) officially fires coach
Guarantee he will not be back next season
jddbn8f - 29-Nov-2009 18:13
The Denver Broncos officially fired their head coach Cowboy925 after the disappointment of their regular season topped with their divisional round loss. Owner Pat Bowlen had this to say in a press release, "The team look unprepared, and played this game sloppy. Too many fumbles and missed tackles. We do not accept this kind of play as an organization, so with a great deal of regret, we as an organization have decided to go another way with the coaching position, effective immediately."

Normally this means nothing, since coaches change teams every season, but with this announcement, the Brocnos are guaranteeing that coach Cowboy will not be leading them into games next season. So that means he has a possibility of 31 teams he may lead into battle next year. Owner Pat Bowlen also had this to say, "If coach Cowboy can establish to us that he can prepare his team to win games, then he will be able to coach the Broncos again."

This is Coach Cowboy's response after hearing the news... "***"

Rams have been scouting their opponents, and coming up with a game plan to keep them in it. Looking for one of their best records. STL looks to end the year at 5-7. A win or two more could have ment post season for Coach Kevinmack.

Steven Jackson will be the key to victory. As a double threat. Rams look to control the clock and the line of scrimmage. Avery, Burton and Ameodelo are clicking with Bulger.

Mark is putting up 159.6 yards a game. Giving STL a slight edge over Warner.

Both Def are giving up over 200 yards to oppnts. this year. Cardinals are worst in the league giving up 29.2 points a game. Rams are 25th while allowing 22.8

Zona wants revenge for their week 2 17-10 loss. Also to win one stinking game!

But STL is playing hot winning 3 of their last 5 games.

Bills Look to Close Out Season as Spoiler
superpunk - 18-Nov-2009 13:42
The season hasn't gone quite as they would have wanted, but the Bills have pride on the line in their season finale against the New York Jets.

On their mind first? Redemption.

"Look what we did in games 2 through 4" said recently fired coach Babymaker Jauron. "It could easily be us fighting for a playoff spot right now, or even in control of the division if things had bounced our way. Instead, they'll have to play spoiler."

Newly appointed interim coach Terrell Owens had this to say; "We feel that our division was maybe the toughest in the league, but we are looking to pull through at .500." How does he feel about their upcoming opponent, the Jets, and their QB Markez Juarez?

"They are so freaking EliManning."

I guess we'll see.

Rams looking for Revenge aginst SEAC@CKS
kevinmack - 9-Nov-2009 22:36
Meeting number 2 between the Seac@cks and your ST. LOUIS RAMS should be an exciting way to continue this DIV. battle. Sea stold the first win, with the Rams fumbling in the redzone and Mebane returning it for a 93 yard TD.

Bulger was off. And the Coaches frustration lead to bad plays and bad throws.

Rams have been practicing, and with a few wins and playing good against some tuff teams. Rams look to improve to 4-7.

Bulger and Avery have been spending extra time working on their new playbook. Steven Jackson is healthy and guarantees a 100 yard game! When pressed about this. Steven says he will sacrifice his 100 yard game for the W. But plans to get both.

Defense are going to bring the wood, put some hard hits on those candy *** seagals! looking to put someone on a stretcher or cause some turnovers! Witherspoon, Little, Laurnities, Dhal Atogwe. Long and Carriker looking to have break out games and put some points on the board!
